There are two main types of ISW internal solitary wave (ISW) of depression - an internal solitary wave consist- ing of a single trough. If the ISW propagates to the right, the wave-induced currents are clockwise, and are anticlockwise if the wave propagates to the left. internal solitary wave (ISW) of elevation - an internal solitary wave consisting of a single crest.
