belize3.math (2021)

  • hardware
    • 2x Intel Gold 6148 CPUs, 2.4 GHz, 12-core (Skylake)
    • 96 GB RAM
    • NVIDIA Quadro P620V2 graphics card
  • software
    • Ubuntu 20.04
    • use authman for ssh key management
  • file storage
    • belize3 has a large local /scratch file system for temporary use such as model runs
    • no NFS-sharing of remote file systems
  • MPI issues
    • MPI version is OpenMPI 4.0.3
    • seems to have problems with InfiniBand module that provoke lots of MPI errors (there's no InfiniBand on belize3)
    • central configuration file /etc/openmpi/openmpi-mca-params.conf has flags set to avoid these problems so you don't have to set any environment variables or command line options to avoid them
