Poincaré Map

The Poincaré map takes the point $x$ in the Poincaré section $S$ from $x$ to $x'$ and from $x'$ to $x''$. Note how the Poincaré section cuts across the same integral curve several times, and the Poincaré map takes values on the intersection of the integral curve with the Poincaré section.
