There are several ways captions can be auto-generated, but this is the recommended workflow
- Upload your video to MS Steam (part of the Office 365 suite)
- Under "Video Settings" select "Transcript and Captions". Select "Generate"
- It can take several minutes to generate transcripts. If the generation fails, you usually need to re-upload the video and start again.
- Auto-generated transcripts can easily be edited directly in Stream, with all the time stamps preserved.
- .vtt files can be downloaded and placed wherever the video will appear.
