Mobius is a content delivery platform which contains an automated assessment tool built by DigitalEd Inc. The Faculty of Math has partnered with them to build Mobius and it is used in many of our courses, both at the graduate and undergraduate level. Its primary advantage is the ability to create algorithmic questions which can provide immediate feedback, leading to an almost unlimited number of questions.

Mobius supports many different question types (sketching, matching, numeric, m/c, and more) and advanced mathematical notations. Mobius assessments can be linked to the LEARN grade book or can be set to practice only with no grades recorded. As this is a centrally supported tool, see the EdTech hub for more information and resources.

The Faculty of Math has an advanced training “course” for those who wish to become power users. Contact Peter Wood for more information.

Centrally Supported: Yes

Possible Alternatives: LEARN quizzes – handles multiple choice questions fine, but arithmetic question functionality is very limited.
